Requirements for Participants:
- Eligibility: Open to professional chefs, amateur cooks, or students from culinary schools. Define if the competition is local, regional, or national.
- Registration: Participants must register by the upcoming deadline, providing their credentials and a brief description of their cooking experience.
- Dish Requirements:
- All dishes prepared must be 100% vegan (no animal products including meat, dairy, eggs, honey, etc.).
- Chefs may need to prepare a specific type of dish (e.g., entree, dessert) or a full-course meal.
- Ingredient Sourcing: Emphasize the use of sustainable and organic ingredients. Ingredients can be locally sourced.
- Cooking Time: There will be a time limit for preparing and presenting the dish.
- Equipment and Supplies: Equipment will be provided and we will notify participants what they are required to bring.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Adherence to food safety and hygiene standards is mandatory.
Judging Criteria:
- Taste: Flavor, seasoning, and overall deliciousness.
- Presentation: Visual appeal and creativity in plating.
- Creativity: Originality in recipe and use of ingredients.
- Technique: Cooking skill and mastery of vegan BBQ techniques.
- Sustainability: Use of environmentally-friendly and local ingredients.
- Adherence to Theme: If there’s a specific theme, how well the dish aligns with it.
